Kirsten Lysne, Ph.D., L.P.
Dr. Lysne holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and has twenty years of professional experience in helping individuals feel their best, reach their goals, and improve relationships. In addition to the practice of clinical psychology, she has pursued specialized training and experience in the areas of leadership development, management, and conflict mediation throughout her professional career.
Dr. Lysne took her undergraduate training at St. Olaf College where she participated in extensive international travel and education. She completed her doctoral studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies, one of the few doctoral psychology programs in the U.S. that specifically integrates multidisciplinary and multicultural perspectives. She completed her clinical internship at the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis, which had the largest American Indian behavioral health clinic in the country at that time. She later become the clinic’s director and created for them a professional training and development program. Dr. Lysne has particular expertise in working within cross-cultural or multi-cultural contexts.
Dr. Lysne completed EMDR training in 1995, and is both a Certified EMDR Therapist and an Approved EMDR Consultant. She has completed training in both Civil and Family Law Mediation, and is listed on the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Roster of Qualified Neutrals

Kit Thomas, Psy.D., L.P.
Kit Thomas, Psy.D., L.P. earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. She has trained in adult and pediatric neuropsychology as well as child, adolescent and adult therapy. Kit has experience working cross-culturally with clinical interests in attachment, assessment, trauma, depression and anxiety. She specializes in the areas of child custody and divorce. She provides custody and parenting time evaluation, parenting consulting, mediation and therapy. She is pursuing specialized training in the assessment of parent-child attachment.
Peggy Cottrell, MA, LMFT
Peggy Cottrell holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has extensive experience working with children and families, including six years in the school system working with children individually and in groups and providing in-home therapy to families. Peggy also spent three years working with adolescents, children, couples and families at Mount Olivet Counseling Center. She has completed training in Prepare/Enrich, a relationship assessment tool for use with couples.
Peggy completed her internship at Hennepin County Family Court Services where she was trained in mediation and custody evaluation. Since this time, Peggy has specialized in working with families experiencing difficulty with divorce and custody issues. She has completed training in Early Neutral Evaluation, and currently provides Parenting Consulting, Coaching, as well as Reunification Therapy.
Peggy is a member of Minnesota Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and serves on the committee for MICOD (Minnesota Interdisciplinary Committee on Divorce).
Michael Goldfarb, MSW, LICSW
Michael Goldfarb, MSW, LICSW, holds a Masters of Social Work Degree from Augsburg College with a Bachelors Degree in Science from the University of Minnesota where he majored in Social Work and Youth Studies. He is licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
Michael has over ten years of experience working with children and families in a variety of public and private settings where he has consistently supported families in developing child-centered solutions as families faced significant challenges. Prior to joining Moxie, Michael held a position with Hennepin County Family Court Services where he provided Early Neutral Evaluation Services, Mediation, and Custody and Parenting Time Evaluations.
Michael specializes in assisting individuals and families involved in custody and parenting time disputes through Custody and Parenting Time Evaluations, Social Early Neutral Evaluation and Parenting Consulting services in addition to other traditional therapeutic modalities.
Michael is listed as a qualified neutral under Rule 114 on the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Roster of Qualified Neutrals. Michael is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is a founding member of the new Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. As a graduate student, he served as a board member on the Minnesota Clinical Social Work Society.
Matthew Shore, MSW, LICSW
Matthew Shore, MSW, LICSW, holds a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of California – Berkeley and a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is also licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
Matthew offers close to fifteen years of experience working with children and families facing challenging times. He has worked both in larger public settings as well as smaller independent agencies and, as a result, is able to bring the best of both to bear. Prior to joining Moxie Inc., Matthew served as a full-time employee with Hennepin County Family Court Services where he successfully provided his clients with Custody Evaluations, Mediation Services, and Early Neutral Evaluations.
Matthew specializes in working with families and individuals contending with custody and parenting time concerns. He has a proven track record of success as a mediator, parenting consultant, and custody evaluator. In addition, his many years at Family Court Services provided him an opportunity to become profoundly well versed in the delivery of Social Early Neutral Evaluations.
Matthew is listed as a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Roster of Qualified Neutrals. He is, additionally, a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, where he is also a board member of the Minnesota Chapter.
Kelly Borsch
Kelly is our Office Manager, so she is the person who keeps us all coordinated and on track. Kelly is your contact person in regard to scheduling, intake information, and checking provider availability. She is in charge of all billing and scheduling matters.
